Globe Williams is one of Australia’s few truly global Facility Management companies, operating out of their Cremorne office in Melbourne. Whilst many cleaning businesses are becoming more integrated only a few companies exist in the Australian market as a Global Total Facility Management model.
Spanning across thirty-one countries worldwide including Greece, Dubai, New Zealand to name a few, the company through its leadership has built a global reputation and service offering that placed the business in 2021 in the top 25 European Facility Management companies.
Securing Global contracts, local contracts, and service partnerships in the countries it operates, Globe Williams culture is as one company where the learnings of each country and the successful outcomes of its contracts are shared across the organisation with Australia providing a significant role in many shared services.
Circular Sustainability joined Globe Williams in 2018 as its environmental service partner as more global contracts require support with their waste and environmental targets. Whilst these may differ contract to contract, country to country, our vast learnings across the organisation and what we do out of Australia holds value and impact for companies across the globe.
In this time, I have been fortunate to support multiple global bids, speak to country directors and major service partners where it is exciting to have no boarders for your role. Whilst we have had the pandemic play major disruption in Australia, the recovery was much quicker in other operating countries where roles could be diversified into other markets remotely during this time.
Since the expansion with the Environmental Services division in APAC we have been busy do major projects for the property industry as well a sustainability consultancy and management contracts in the manufacturing industry.
In July 2022 I had the pleasure, first-hand meeting the Athens team, the major European headquarters for Globe Williams in Greece. Hosted by Peter Souvatzis the Group CEO, I was able to meet the people we support and to give them an update on our Australian business and major Sustainability projects.
What is of most interest is the 500B Sustainable furniture project and how Circular Sustainability can support global clients, zero waste to landfill targets globally where challenges exist in differing countries contracts around infrastructure, costs, and culture.
As sustainability and the circular economy is a key factor in securing more global contracts the purpose of the visit was to establish a global marketing strategy to leverage the experience within the company and see how the expansion of consultancy in other countries could expand the environmental business in other markets.
It was an exciting time to finally meet my peers and colleagues face to face, more than seventy staff within the Athens office. I was warmly welcomed and enjoyed my time in Athens. A big thank you to Kathi, Peter, and John for organising the visit and your support over the 11 years we have been working together. Circular Sustainability looks forward to further supporting the Globe Williams business in Australia and the world as we build the environmental services division together.
